MAY 2021. This year, Paramérica is especially celebrating the completion of a new export of lemons to the European Union. As is well known, in August 2020 the EU banned imports of lemons and oranges from Argentina due to the high number of detections of the pest known as black spot in the fruit. To recover that market, the National Agri-Food Health and Quality Service (Senasa) reinforced control measures in the field and packaging and established a new series of measures both at origin and in transit and reception of production. Thanks to the work of our technical and professional teams, Paramérica now complies with these conditions. In addition, a few weeks ago the EU removed the restrictions. For both reasons, we have been able to re-enter this important market.
This time we have shipped two containers of 29 tons each. The fruit, exported under the Noni Lemon brand, belongs to the production of the Yatasto, Adela, Yánima and Nonino farms, all Paramérica’s own establishments located in the provinces of Tucumán and Salta, in northwestern Argentina.
The destination countries are France and Holland.
We are convinced that this first shipment is just the beginning of a campaign that promises to be very successful, with an estimated production of 9,500 tons.
